MFPT 2015

Part of a Joint Conference with

ISA’s 61st International Instrumentation Symposium

May 12-14, 2015 – The Westin, Huntsville AL, USA

CONFERENCE THEME - Technology Evolution: Sensors to Systems for Failure Prevention

Because of the highly successful joint conference in 2013 (in Cleveland), MFPT and ISA are once again organizing a joint event for 2015.  This Call for Papers is soliciting papers for the MFPT 2015 element of the Joint Conference that will be held 12-14 May 2015, at The Westin, Huntsville, AL, USA.  The MFPT 2015 element will focus on the development and application of prognostics and health management technologies, and will show how practical technologies can be integrated into a platform or system.  A separate Call for Papers will be issued by ISA for the 61st International Instrumentation Symposium element of the Conference.  All attendees and participants will have full access to the joint Conference, thus providing outstanding value.

MFPT is also pleased this year to be collaborating with the British Institute of NDT, adding further to the international flavor of the Conference.

Conference Program

Monday - a series of workshops (to be announced)

Tuesday to Thursday - Opening Plenary Session followed by up to six parallel technical tracks

Conference details will be posted on the MFPT website over the coming months, including the full Joint Conference program, and will be periodically updated to include the latest information.

Preparation and Publication of Papers

While a PowerPoint presentation is a perfectly acceptable format, we do encourage presenters to write a paper and thus receive the appropriate publication and professional recognition.  MFPT publishes hardbound conference proceedings containing all papers that are accepted and received by the deadline.  The proceedings are available for purchase as part of your conference registration.  Additionally, an electronic set of proceedings will be issued after the Conference to all attendees and will contain all presentation material, tutorials and keynote speeches from the Conference.

Principal authors of accepted abstracts will find full instructions on how to prepare their papers, if applicable, under Author Guidelines on the MFPT web site.  Authors must submit their final papers to MFPT HQ and pay the required registration fee by Monday, 23 February 2015For all papers published in the proceedings, a speaker will be required to attend the Conference, present the paper and pay the required registration fee.  Publication of the paper is contingent upon the payment of the fee on time.

Jack Frarey Award for Excellence in the Field of Machinery Failure Prevention Technology.  The late Jack Frarey excelled in many aspects of the field of Machinery Failure Prevention Technology, his contributions making a significant impact in the field, and inspiring his colleagues.  The Jack Frarey award recognizes annually the outstanding contributions to this field of individuals or organizations that best emulate the spirit and personal dedication that Jack brought to this endeavor.  At MFPT 2015, the next recipient of this award will be announced.

Henry and Sallie Pusey “Best Paper” Award.  First introduced at MFPT 61 in April 2007, this award reflects the many years of hard work, dedication, and professionalism shown by Henry and Sallie Pusey that established the high standards of excellence that MFPT enjoys today.  The award thus exemplifies the highest levels of excellence in technical contribution, clarity, and professionalism of all the written papers submitted for the MFPT annual Conference.  The next recipient will be announced at MFPT 2015.

Best Student Paper $500 Award.  All students who submit papers for publication in the 2015 MFPT hardbound proceedings are eligible to compete for this award, which was introduced at MFPT 2012.  The award is intended to encourage students to carry out top quality work, but also to communicate their work to a high standard both through their written papers and their Conference presentations.  Students can be at BS, MS or PhD levels.
